Morning training, evening classes & workshops take place in the studios of Tanztendenz and are organized by the teachers themselves.

Thursday 10 to 11.15 am
Chiang-Mei Wang
Tai-Chi Dao-Yin

Chiang-Mei Wang's dance technique is like swimming in space. The body itself is the water, sometimes still, sometimes gently undulating, sometimes foaming up like the waves of the sea. Everything is moved by inner energy, called ‘chi’ in Chinese. It is released through deep relaxation. This energy, in combination with the rhythm of the breath, creates invisible waves in the body and space. Every energy impulse from the centre of the body flows in circles through the dancer and continues to have an effect in the room.

The basis of her dance technique is the training of Tai Chi Dao-Yin, a variant of traditional Chinese shadow boxing or Tai Chi developed by Master Wei Shong in Taiwan. By increasing awareness of the body and breath, the technique leads to deep relaxation - both physically and mentally.
