"I would like to share and experience with you some improvisation tools and exercises that we have developed in the Company ZOO - Thomas Hauert. The masterclass invites your body, mind and reflexes to step out of your comfort zone and familiar patterns. Working individually and in small groups, you will be challenged to respond immediately to new information given by one or more colleagues. We work in different ways and with different techniques, mainly through contact, touch and mutual moulding. This expands the range of possible responses and creates a state in which we are free to constantly change. Being 'in the moment', being ready to react, endure, resist, grow, create and dance..." - Samantha Van Wissen


After her training at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Samantha van Wissen worked with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker / Rosas and took part in numerous creations and repertoire pieces from 1991 - 1997. She is one of the founding members of the company ZOO - Thomas Hauert. Since 1998, she has been involved in almost all of the ensemble's productions, including "Cows in Space", "Pop-up Songbook", "Jetzt", "Verosimile", "Accords", "Mono", "How to Proceed" and "EFEU". In 2021, she worked on the solo "Giselle" with Francois Gremaud, for which she received the Prix de la meilleure interprète of the Prix de la Critique Danse in 2023. She teaches workshops at P.A.R.T.S., at the Summer Studios, at ImPulsTanz and other training programmes.
