Rather than a classic guest performance programme, the project is the result of intensive, long-standing artistic exchange. Productions and artists who are already connected to Tanztendenz through institutional partnerships, previous residencies, or collaborative projects are invited to participate. 
side.kicks is deliberately designed to be streamlined and flexible, enabling diversity in many forms. The aim is to preserve the visibility of diverse artistic styles, organisational forms, financing models, concerns and strategies, and to showcase these in an exemplary manner to provide inspiration. Another component of side.kicks is a series of discussions on current issues in cultural policy.
