Open Call: HIER = JETZT 2026
From March 30, 2026, to April 12, 2026, six to eight selected participants will be provided with studios free of charge at Tanztendenz, schwere reiter, and as part of a residency at Tanzprojekt München. Finally, the works will be presented on the stage of schwere reiter on two evenings with free admission, under the support of technical staff.

Following each performance evening, there will be audience discussions between the participating artists and interested viewers. As has been the case since 2022, thanks to a private donation, a jury prize will once again be awarded at the end of HIER=JETZT 2026, together with a scholarship from the Norbert Janssen Foundation.
Tanztendenz will also offer the award winner a two-week residency.
About HIER = JETZT
HIER = JETZT was initiated as a platform for Munich's independent dance scene and has been presented as a format of Tanztendenz München e.V. since 2024. It continues to be led by its initiators, Johanna Richter and Birgitta Trommler. Founded in 2016, the “Artist-for-Artist Initiative” aims to bring together as many dance professionals as possible in an open encounter, with a focus on promoting work processes and giving professional choreographers the opportunity to work on their own productions.
For two weeks, we open rehearsal rooms and enable public performances so that artists can try out and discuss their work beyond budget and production pressures. HIER = JETZT sees itself as a laboratory situation in which choreographers can try out their artistic approaches in parts or as works in progress and present them for discussion under professional conditions (lighting, sound, stage) on the stage of schwere reiter in an open space format.
The platform also provides a digital format and makes the participants' work accessible to a wide, supraregional audience with professional video documentaries on the HIER = JETZT website on Vimeo, Facebook, and Instagram. The videos and annual documentaries can be viewed on the platform's pages throughout the year. As a so-called “starter package,” participants also receive the videos and professional photos for their own virtual presence or further applications.
HARD FACTS
To apply for the platform, you must submit a concept (maximum one A4 page) and a brief professional CV.
Contributions for the public presentation should not exceed 20 minutes.
