Tai-Chi Dao-Yin aims to harmonise the body’s energy, known in Chinese as ‘Chi’. A harmonious flow of energy is essential for physical and mental health. The spiral-like, circular movements stretch muscles, tendons and joints. They open up inner spaces, release blockages and lead to deep relaxation. Tai Chi Dao Yin unfolds like a deep massage from within. Chiang-Mei Wang, a choreographer and dance teacher originally from Taiwan, opens up a new way of accessing the potential of one’s own body.
Chiang-Mei Wang was a soloist for 10 years with the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre in Taiwan, Asia’s renowned dance company. During this time, she worked intensively with the Tai Chi Dao Yin master Wei Shong in Taiwan and received her teaching certification in 2002.

From 4 to 14 August, TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA will present performances by international choreographers and exciting emerging artists, as well as a programme of workshops for professionals, beginners and experienced amateur dancers. With this programme of performances, workshops and choreographic labs, TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA transforms Munich every summer into a meeting place for dance professionals and amateurs from all over the world.
