Dance On Ensemble: A Suite of Dances & A Day in the Studio
AS PART OF THE TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA
“A Suite of Dances – A Day in the Studio” is the fourth instalment in the “Replies” series, in which the Dance On Ensemble creates a dialogue between significant works from dance history and contemporary perspectives. The focus is on choreographies by the Israeli dancer and movement pioneer Noa Eshkol, whose precise compositions are being interpreted for the first time by an ensemble outside her own company.
These are complemented by the new work ‘A Day in the Studio’ by Noé Soulier, which takes up and develops Eshkol’s interest in geometry, space and movement. Soulier explores everyday actions as choreographic material and combines precise structures with spontaneous decisions. The result is an evening that impressively interweaves dance history and contemporary choreography.
