Kollektiv Riess Neustadt : THIS TOMORROW
The dance performance explores the emotional and political weight of the future, not by seeking solutions, but through the intimate act of continuing together, through movement and perseverance.
The trio, comprising two dancers and a musician, explores different configurations of the individual and the collective – with care, melancholy and elation. Somatic movement research meets sound.
Digital sounds intertwine with the vitality of the breath, and the effect of gravity on the bodies is explored to its fullest extent across every possible range. Within an installation-like structure of sound, body and resonating body, the performers move in a pulsating, ever-changing rhythm through cycles of formation and decay. What carries us beyond the pervasive logic of capitalist exploitation? The work explores positive visions of a possible future, in community, as vulnerable bodies in the fragile, open space of the present.
