MAKE IT UP! is a dance and video performance featuring the dancer Emmanuelle Rizzo, aimed at everyone aged 12 and over, which explores the daily act of self-presentation both online and offline: at school and within the family, with friends, and on social media. The starting point for this dance-based exploration is a young person’s playful and intense experimentation with different styles, fashions and codes. For the dancer, this develops into an ambivalent process between self-empowerment and the influence of peer groups.   
 

Dance clips by video artists Mikael Champs and Alpay Akcan use an aesthetic of heightened reality to explore dreams, imagination, role models, fashion trends, styles and codes.                                                     
MAKE IT UP! inspires and encourages people to freely develop their own diverse personalities beyond fixed notions of femininity and masculinity.
